BTRC will be the driving force to build a discrimination-free Smart Bangladesh

Smart Bangladesh of the future will be free of digital discrimination. And the Secretary of Posts and Telecommunications Division Abu Hena Morshed Zaman stressed the importance of carrying out the responsibility with honesty in realizing this dream. On the other hand, BTRC has promised to play a role as a driving force in building a smart Bangladesh.

They expressed this optimism at a discussion meeting held in the main conference room of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) building located in Agargaon administrative area of ​​the capital on Sunday as part of celebrating the Great Victory Day-2023.

While speaking as the chief guest, Honorable Secretary for Posts and Telecommunications Division Abu Hena Morshed Zaman said that the history of liberation war of independent Bangladesh achieved through the sacrifice of millions of martyrs should be spread among the next generation.

Stating that the youth of independent Bangladesh are playing a glorious role in all fields including education, culture and sports; he said that everyone should work honestly to realize the dream of a smart Bangladesh-- free of digital divide. He also commented that the people of the country which united and made the country independent will play a role in forming a corruption free society.

While speaking as the special guest, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited Md. Shahjahan Mahmud said that the seeds of freedom were hidden during the partition of India. Pointing out that the West Pakistani ruling group has exploited the Bengali nation in all fields including political, economic and cultural fields, he said, Bangabandhu fought for the liberation of the Bengali nation throughout his life, including the language movement of 1952, United Front elections of 1954, the education movement of 1962, the liberation war of 1971.

While speaking as the President, the BTRC Chairman Engineer Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali nation of all time, showed the way to stand up to the exploited and oppressed nation throughout his life. Mentioning that the unarmed Bengalis had Faught against the modern armed Pakistani forces under the orders of Bangabandhu, he said that the people of Bangladesh, who had gained 3 million martyrs in the nine-month bloody war, are working with their heads held high in different countries of the world. Paying deep respect to those who sacrificed their lives for the creation of independent Bangladesh, the BTRC chairman said that the father of the nation sacrificed himself all his life in the hope of building an independent, prosperous golden Bengal. He urged everyone to work together to build a non-communal Sonar Bangla of the father of the nation's dream by building Smart Bangladesh. BTRC Chairman mentioned that BTRC will play a role as a driving force in building Smart Bangladesh.


Commission Secretary Md. Nurul Hafeez conducted the meeting while the Director General of Administration Department Mr. Abdullah Al Mamun, Director General of Engineering and Operations Department Brigadier General Md. Ehsanul Kabir, Director General of Spectrum Department Brigadier General Mohammad Moniruzzaman Jewel, Director General of Legal and Licensing Department Mr. Ashish Kumar Kundu also spoke.
